Our Mission Statement
Our Mission
We are aiming to make a significant positive impact in McKeesport and require your assistance.
While it is easy for all of us to remain focused on daily routines and responsibilities, I believe we can also allocate time to positively influence someone else's life. My family and I are deeply invested in McKeesport, as it is our place of residence. Over the past several years, we have recognized the importance of living not only for ourselves but for others as well. Personally, I have participated in several mission trips and outreach ministries and have witnessed the profound effect that dedicating time and willingness to help others can achieve.
Our passion has grown and led us to purchase an old Catholic Nunnery, where my father attended school, located in the heart of McKeesport. While some may view it as merely an old building, to me, it represents a potential sanctuary where individuals can feel a sense of belonging, experience the love of Jesus Christ, and provide accommodation for those participating in missions to make a difference in our community.
In relation to this building, we started a non-profit organization called "Big Dave’s Place" in memory of our late father. The name also relates to King David from the Bible, who faced numerous daunting tasks such as confronting a giant and being a king, all with the purpose of making a godly impact. This is our mission as well- to make a godly impact.
Our objective is to utilize this building to house short-term mission teams that will assist in revitalizing McKeesport through community projects. We plan to offer food outreach programs
that provide meals and groceries to those experiencing food insecurity. Additionally, we aspire to collaborate with other organizations to use the space to enhance our city.
This ambition exceeds what my family and I can accomplish alone; it requires faith in God and your partnership. Our immediate priority is to undertake various building repairs and complete accommodations for mission teams to stay. We have six groups scheduled to lodge here in the upcoming months, collaborating with the Pittsburgh Dream Center.
Our financial goal is to raise $10,000. You may contribute monthly or make a one-time donation. Your support will significantly benefit individuals and a community in desperate need.
Donations can be made either by check payable to "Big Dave's Place" sent to 407 Shaw Ave, McKeesport, PA, 15132, or online through PayPal at the following address. Please contact me if you have any questions or wish to learn more about the vision of Big Dave's Place. My email is [email], or you can reach me by phone at [phone number].
Blessings,
Our Vision
We envision Big Dave’s Place as a Christ-centered sanctuary — a restored building filled with purpose, where mission teams find rest, families find hope, and McKeesport sees revival.
Our goal is to house 15–20 missionaries at a time, host outreach programs for local families, and partner with churches, nonprofits, and neighbors to restore lives and rebuild our city — one act of love at a time.
Why We Exist
Big Dave’s Place was born out of a heart for service and a desire to honor both a father’s legacy and God’s call.
Rooted in McKeesport, we’ve reclaimed an old Catholic nunnery as a new home for ministry — not just for shelter, but for impact.
Here, people encounter the presence of God, experience the love of community, and go out equipped to serve others with boldness and grace.
